Pricecheck welcomes students to learn about international trade
Sheffield Hallam University students were given a presentation and tour of Pricecheck by employees from various departments
Global brand wholesaler and distributor Pricecheck welcomed undergraduate International Business Studies students from Sheffield Hallam University to its head office last week to learn about how, and why the company trades internationally.
In recent years, Pricecheck has seen rapid growth by adopting a strategic approach to the export and import of over 3,000 product lines, which can change daily.
The students learnt how the company has built on its success in the UK and replicated this business model in over 75 territories, including the EU, Australia, Singapore, Canada and the USA.
Pricecheck already has strong links to Sheffield Hallam University, with six students currently on placement, and many of its graduates are Sheffield Hallam alumni.
Dr Thi Song Hanh Pham, Senior Lecturer in International Business and Global Supply Chain Management at Sheffield Hallam University commented “The content of the presentation was very relevant to what we are teaching in International Business, especially, Global Supply Chain Management, and export management.”
HR Advisor, Alicia Rudd who organised the event said, “We love working with Sheffield Hallam University. Events like this help students to understand the world of work and equip them with real-world examples to apply to their studies. We are proud of our Hallam alumni, and look forward to welcoming more soon.”
The company is looking forward to hosting similar events for more students in the future.
