In the lively and competitive FMCG arena, Pricecheck has long established relationships with many brand owners and major suppliers, sourcing key branded lines which we then sell on to a range of different outlets. We buy and sell thousands of product lines across all FMCG categories – we never know where our next partnership will take us, making for a fast paced, diverse and exciting place to work. As Pricecheck continues to grow, so do our employees and we’re on the lookout for a Trading Assistant to join our team.

What you’ll be doing

Depending upon your skills, interests and future career aspirations, you may find yourself working as part of the Sales, Buying, Marketing or Business Development teams:

Business Development

Working as part of the wider Trading team, you will be helping to identify new opportunities, customers and suppliers to take the business further through thorough research, business feedback and applying your inquisitive approach. Seeing this research through to fruition, you will share your findings with the team to then monitor, accurately record and chase feedback, all managed through our CRM and bespoke account systems.

Sales Support

Ultimately, you’ll be matching the right products to the right customers, for the right price. You will be working alongside an International Account Manager and working together on your joint territory to generate business and increase turnover. Rather than a static product list and one prescribed way of selling, you are encouraged to use your individual approach and commercial awareness to adapt to the situation, meaning no two days are ever the same. You could be researching new international markets and targeting specific territories, to representing Pricecheck at one of the many trade shows we visit during the year. You will assist in the preparation for key meetings and international trips, and be the office based point of contact for your customers.


You will work across all areas of our marketing function, contributing to the overall brand, image and tone of Pricecheck. Supporting our Marketing department to execute the marketing strategy, you will be involved in communications throughout the business, both internally and externally. you will be involved with our social media presence and will liaise with external companies in relation to branded marketing materials, our charitable partners and help to co-ordinate and organise our presence at various trade shows, both overseas and here in the UK. You’ll also be a key contact for administrative queries within the marketing team.


Working within the Buying team, you will be providing administrative support to ensure that the Buyers are best placed to focus on trading and making the most of the deals being made. This analytical role helps to provide structure and routine to the team, through a mixture of scheduled tasks and also providing ad hoc support and cover to your partnered Buyers. In this fast paced role, you will assist in analysing stock offers through data analysis and store visits, preparing attractive presentations to offer out new purchases to the sales team and assist the Buyers in their meeting preparation.

What we’re looking for

With so much going on, you need to be sharp, smart with an eagerness to learn – we ask that you be studying towards gaining strong A levels (or the associated equivalent) and at least a grade B in GCSE Maths and English. However, we look for more than just academic achievements of our team. Show us that you have entrepreneurial spirit, an interest in business and enthusiasm for working - we would love to hear more from you. As we trade internationally, we’re keen to hear from people who have language skills but these are not essential.

Following an in depth induction where you will spend time with all areas of the business, you will be working with the team where you will get to know our systems, processes, products and industry as part of your on the job training. Given how varied all the roles are, you will thrive in a dynamic and ever changing environment, be a natural multi-tasker and be motivated by seeing all the pieces of the puzzle coming together.

Whilst long established, Pricecheck are continuing to grow and we want a certain kind of person to grow with us too. In time, we envisage our Apprentice to take on additional duties and identify an area of business that they wish to further develop in.
