We buy thousands of product lines from hundreds of suppliers – we never know where the next deal will take us, making for a fast paced, ever changing and exciting place to work and we’re on the lookout for a bright and enthusiastic apprentice to join our team.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be the ‘meeter and greeter’ of visitors, the friendly voice who answers the phone and the person at the core of the business – you will become the face and voice of Pricecheck.

Along with the switchboard management, where you will be transferring calls and building internal relationships, you will also be responsible for post and parcel administration and keeping the office topped up on orders of stationery and such like! You will help to prepare for business meetings in terms of setting up meeting rooms and covering lunch and refreshment requirements. You will also assist the wider business teams where necessary, picking up administrative duties such as photocopying and filing, updating databases and helping to prepare for events.

What we’re looking for

Creating that positive first impression is key. We are looking for a bright, resourceful individual who can give attention to detail to all tasks undertaken. You must be organised and good at multi-tasking situations as the role is busy and different each day. You must show an eagerness to learn, demonstrate enthusiasm and have an interest in business. As you are the first point of contact, you will be friendly and polite, but assertive where necessary. You will have a mature, confident and professional outlook, with a strong telephone manner and be smartly presented.

Whilst we look at more than just academic qualifications, a minimum of a grade B in English and Maths GCSE is required for this role.

How you’ll do it

Following an in depth induction where you will spend time with all areas of the business, you will start to learn the structure, industry and get a feel for the nature of incoming enquiries daily. You will be trained on specific processes and systems by our existing Receptionist, but then use your initiative on how to improve these too.

In order to succeed, you will become at ease in a busy office environment where your time management skills and multi-tasking ability help you to succeed. Your internal and external communications will demonstrate maturity and confidence, all underpinned by a professional and friendly approach.

In time, we envisage our Apprentice to take on additional duties and identify an area of business that they wish to further develop in.
